Sirens, Σειρῆνες

Reflections from a psychotherapist.

I chose sirens as the name of this site. I was aiming to reflect back on the greek mythical creatures called Sirens. Creatures both alluring and dangerous. This symbol is layered with the idea of a siren, from an ambulance. A call that help is coming.

My grandmother summed up and joined those two symbols best, when she spoke about the Salvation Army coming to town. "God help us, here come the helpers" she would say.

Access all areas

The blog site had that title ready made for me here. I have kept it. But you can't access all areas. What I'm offering is a sporadic window of my mind. Not quite a stream of consciousness, it will be too self conscious and edited for that. But I have made this site anonymous in attempt to free myself of what I 'should' write. What will be lost with lack of structure, may make space for something a bit more playful and curious.

Fresh content,

Again that blog site had that title ready for me. I have kept half of the title. The content will be less fresh more rehashed. I like the quote "a good artist is an excellent thief".

Meet people like you

Again the blog site had that title ready made. What a lovely fantasy. I would suggest binning the fantasy and going to meet people face to face. As Melanie Klein stated "in our dreams (fantasies) we can have our eggs any way we want them (poached, scrambled, eggs Royale) but they are not nourishing". The fantasy must loop back to our everyday actions in our everyday lives.
