Away on holiday. We got chatting to the owner of the site we were yurting on.

He was talking about keeping himself healthy as he moved into his 70's. He spoke about how he and his brother would go for 20 mile walks. He wanted to maintain that distance. He feared if they started to shorten the distance then he would gradually build increasing excuses to do less and less.

He feared by pulling back and shortening the walks, his motivation would also reduce.

I just wonder what would do more harm to motivation. A shift in his ambition or an injury.

Just a thought.
