Spazmo the bull
I was 7. Visiting friends of dad on a farm.
The adults had spoken and laughed about the bull. It was a topic people found funny. The bull had a limp and would fall over from time to time. As a kid I followed what the adult found funny. So I watched the bull.
The bull was jumping up onto the other cows. I let the adults know the bull was being aggressive to the other cows. The adults responded strangely, like the joke was over but something was unclear in their responses. Eventually they said 'just ignore it', and closed the blinds. I felt confused, realised something was being said but did not know what.
It left me with a sense of being outside of the joke, not quite right, not quite able to keep up, as if I was a bit of a spazmo.
So 40 years later I realise the bull was on heat and trying its best to have sex with the cows.
I don't think it would have been that hard to explain to a 7 year old, was it?
